1 Year

Whitley,

I still cannot believe that it has been a year since my whole world changed.  You are the greatest blessing that I could ever receive.  I love you so very much and cherish every moment I have with you.

You had your 1 year check up yesterday and her are your stats for the month:
Weight:  16 lbs 8 oz
Height:  28"
Clothing:  6-9 month
Shoes:  Size 3
Diaper:  Size 3
Teeth:  You have 4 upper and 2 lower.

You had a really good 1st birthday party.  All of your friend and family were there to help you celebrate.  You got so may toys that we had to have Grandma Joy help us take them home!  You had lots of fun opening your presents but what you liked the best were the balloons.  We still have a few floating around the house and you are still playing with them.  I am excited to see you at Christmas this year.  I know that you will have fun opening up all the good presents.  I have a feeling that Santa will be good to you too, because you have been very good this year.

I love you my beautiful baby girl,

Mommy

11 Months

Whitley,

Not much longer til your 1st birthday!  Man has time flown.  It doesn't even seem possible that you are almost a year old.

Well, baby girl since the last time I wrote you started walking!  I thought once you started walking you would still be easy to keep track of since the whole time you were crawling you never went any further than the entry way in the house.  Oh how I was WRONG!  You are everywhere!  One minute you will be right beside me the next thing I know you are in your room playing or the laundry room.  You are a sneaky little walker!  You have also figured out how to open the dog's kennels.  They love you for that!  Once they are out you will sit in their pens and play in their water bowls.  You like to do this mostly right as we are trying to leave in the morning.

This weekend is the last weekend that it is suppose to be nice out, so I am going to try to get some pictures of you in your birthday outfit so that I can get your birthday invitations made.  I really need to be getting that done and soon!  Hopefully your will have fun at your birthday party and not be too shy.  You remind me so much of me when I was little when you are being shy.  I was always really shy when I was little.

I love you baby cakes!

Love you precious baby girl,

Mommy

10 Months

Whitley,

WOW!  It has been 10 months already and has been such a blessing!  I love you so very much and have no idea what I would do without you.

What you have been up to lately:

Teeth: 4 total, bottom middle 2 and side top 2.  You have a big gap on top and it is pretty darn cute!
Weight:  Around 15 1/2 lbs.
Height:  Haven't measured you since last month.
Mode of transportation:  You are still crawling quite a bit but you are walking just as much!

I am so proud of you my little Mighty Mouse!  You can do anything you put your mind to and I have no doubt in my mind that this will ever change.  You love the dogs so much and are trying to play with them more.  Diesel is getting better about letting you pet him and I think before too long you two are going to be best friends.  You laugh and laugh at the boys.  Your laughter is music to your mommy's ears!  I love to hear you laugh and talk.  Sometimes I even think you sing to me.

I love you baby cakes!  You are the most beautiful, wonderful, precious blessing in the world!

Love you sweet baby girl,

Mommy

9 Months

Whitley,

Can't believe it is time to write another update!  Okay so I know that it is close to time to write another, but I don't want to miss this one.  You have been growing like a weed and continue to be the light of our lives.

You are still in the same diapers and clothes as last time but you have gained some weight and length!
Weight:  14 pounds 10 ounces
Length:  26"
You are eating 3 meals of solid food a day and it is usually big people food.  You are a pretty messy eater if mommy doesn't help you and then that means that you are pretty mad at mommy when it comes to having to get you cleaned up!

You can say mama and dada and I am convinced you can say dog.  You point at a dog and make a noise so I have been taking that as dog.  You are still crawling like crazy but you are cruising more and more.  You have also been standing some by yourself.

You love to crawl in, on and through anything you can!  Your favorites are your toy basket, end and coffee tables and the ball pit at daycare.

We love you and are so very very proud of you!  I know that love will only grow as you do and you will continue to make everyday so much better.

Love you my beautiful baby girl,

Mommy

8 Months

Whitley,

My oh my how time is flying by!  You are now 8 months old and I simply cannot believe it!  I just got your 6 month pictures back (Yes, I know, I am good at getting your pictures taken just not ordered in a timely manner!) and they are sooooo good.  I have your 9 month picture appointment already made too!

You are such a little monkey!  You crawl and climb all over everything!  Surprisingly you manage to do all of this with minimal bruises so far.  You are starting to walk from toy to toy and stuff like that.  You are so much fun to watch crawling and playing.  I love it!

Ok so here is the run down on what you are doing these days:

Eating 3 meals of solid food.
Using your sippy cup some.
Nursing 6 times a day but for shorter periods of time.
Still in 3-6 month clothing and a few of your bigger 0-3 month.
Still wearing size 2 diapers.
You weighed 14 lbs the last time I weighed you.
You can go anywhere you want and are really fast at getting there!
Love to play with your activity table and your cups.
You have started saying mama again.
You are starting to "cruise" (walking holding on to furniture or toys).

Well my little sweet beautiful baby girl you are growing up on me and this really just hit me last night as I was nursing you before I put you down to bed.  Recently you have been nursing for short lengths of time but last night you were super tired and so you took your time and I made me realize that you are growing up on me faster than I would like.  It was nice to have one of our nice long nursing sessions last night.  I just held you and watched you and thanked God for you.  I never knew how blessed I was until you were given to me.

Love you sweet baby girl,

Mommy

You are a very happy baby girl.  Everybody who meets you immediately falls in love with you.  They always love your long curly eyelashes and your beautiful smile.  Your laugh is amazing.  It melts my heart over and over.  You are one very special little girl.

Love you so very much my beautiful girl,

June Update

Sorry that I haven't updated this in a while.  There has been so many things that have happened, only where to begin....

Well, at Whitley's 6 month doctor's appointment she weighed 13 lbs 3 oz and 24 inches long.  She had another ultrasound to monitor her kidney and we found out that it is the ureter coming into the kidney that is dilated but not causing any damage.  The doctor wants to check it again at her 1 year appointment.  If he thinks she needs it further checked out, he is going to send us to a pediatric urologist in St. Louis.

The week after the doctor's appointment she got her first tooth!  Then she got her second tooth the next week.  It is the 2 on the bottom and is still working them all the way up.  The Saturday before Father's Day she learned to sit herself up!  Of course I missed it the first time she did it.  I was vacuuming the living room and turned around and she was sitting up, but I didn't miss her next milestone.  On Father's Day we all went to my parent's house to work cattle and to see my dad.  Whit was playing with the rocking cow my mom has for the grand kids and she kept wanting to play with the face while standing on it so Kenzie sat her in front of it to play with it and she grabbed a hold of it and just stood up!  Everyone but I think my mom got to see that milestone.  So of course you want to see if it is just a fluke so we sat her down in front of it and she did it again!

She still hasn't started fully crawling.  She will get up on her hands and knees, move her knees forward and then plops on her belly, reaches and then pushes herself forward with her feet.  Yesterday she was really trying and would move her knees then 1 hand and then move her knees again then plop.  She will get it and then we will be in trouble because she is very active and once she learns something that is all she wants to do.

I think that is all I have to update you on for now.  By the way her 6 month pictures came out SOOOOOOOO good!

6 Months

Whitley,

I can't believe that you are already 1/2 a year old.  Time is going way faster than I would like for it too.  You are getting to be such a big girl and becoming more independent.  As you grow your personality grows as well.  You are still such a happy little girl (when your teeth aren't bothering you).  I know I have said this before, but when you smile your whole face lights up.  Here are just a few of the everyday things you are up to:

Sitting up:  CHECK You can sit in the floor and play with toys all day
Crawling: Almost!  You are really good at going backwards, turning around and rocking on your hands and knees, but still need to work on the forward motion.  You are working on that, you just started lunging forward.
Diaper Size:  You are still in Pamper Swaddlers Sensitive Size 2
Clothing:  3-6 for the most part.  You still can wear some of your 0-3 month clothes.
Weight:  I took you to the Dr. about a week and a half ago and you were weighing 13.2 lbs (with your clothes on)!
Height:  You have your 6 month Dr. appointment next week and that is when they will measure you.
Feedings:  You are still primarily nursing but you have started eating a little bit of rice cereal in the evenings.

I am so proud of you!  You make all of my bad days better.  I love you so very much and you are getting more beautiful everyday.  You change so much from day to day.  I still have no idea what color your eyes are going to be.  Sometimes they are blue with brown in the middle and then other days they look more all brown.  I guess only time will tell with that.

I have been contemplating putting you in your bed in your room at nights.  Until I make up my mind you are still sleeping in the pack -n- play in our bedroom.  That is a big decision for me to make.  I'm pretty sure daddy is wanting me to start you in your room soon because you have been waking up earlier than normal (about 5:30 am) and he isn't a morning person so doesn't like it very well.

I love you baby girl!  You are perfect and beautiful in every way.

Love you sweet girl,

Mommy

Mother's Day and Furniture

Sunday was my first Mother's Day.  It was a really good day.  Robb and Whitley took me out to breakfast and take a nice long shower and I actually got to fix my hair!  Then Whitley and I went to my mom's house to spend some time with her.  I knew that we were going to work goats so when I got there I helped mom put Whit's John Deere wagon together.  Once it was done and I put sunscreen and a sun hat on Whit and we were ready to go outside.  She was so cute!

(I don't know how to rotate this! Sorry)
Here she is in her wagon!

As soon as we went outside she pretty much fell asleep.  So I parked her wagon in the shade and she slept there until I woke her up when we had gone back inside.

A couple of weekends ago we all went furniture shopping.  This has become our anniversary present for the last two years.  Last year we got a much needed new bedroom set and this year we go a much needed living room set.  I really like it and we now have a lot more room for Whit to play and for the boys (our dogs) to play.  Here are the pictures.

It all looks really good.  And Whit likes our new chair too!  We got a rocker recliner just for us.  Robb has a 4 other recliners to chose from.  But his go to spot is the recliner in the love seat closet to the table.

5 Months

Whitley,

Wow where has the time gone?  You are already 5 months old and before I know it, it is going to be time for your 1st birthday.

Here is what you have been doing lately and how you are growing:

Sitting up:  Check (Mom still has to stay close because you sometimes fall backwards)
Rolling over both ways:  Check  You roll all over the place!
Crawling: Nope, but you have scooted a couple of times.
Laughing:  Check  You really like it when mommy gives you kisses all over.
Sleeping all night:  CHECK!!  You are such a good sleeper!
Diaper Size: 2 but they are still big on you
Clothing Size:  Mostly still 0-3 and very very few of your 3-6
Weight:  I haven't weighed you since your last doctor's appointment.
Length:  Same as with your weight.

Oh sissy you LOVE the dogs now.  You see them and you just start smiling and smiling!  They really like you too.  They like to give you kisses on your hands and for you to pet them.  You like to play in the floor with them.  Sometimes you will pay more attention to them than your toys.

I have been calling you my Mighty Mouse.  I tell everybody that you are small but mighty.  Everyone always thinks you are 2 months younger than you are.  It's ok with me because you ought to see the look on their face when I tell them how old you are.  Always the same response though, "she is so small."

I love you my sweet beautiful girl and I am so very thankful for you.  I thank God everyday for bringing you into my life.

Love you baby girl,

Mommy

Easter

We made it through Easter!  It was a very busy weekend but we made it and Whitley was awesome.

On Sunday I let Whitley sleep as long as she wanted.  She woke up at about 7, which for me is sleeping in so I was excited!  After I got her fed and changed I went to get her Easter basket for her to open.  The Easter bunny was good to her and she was excited!  I have the picture to prove it.

See, I told you she was excited.  She took everything out of her basket one by one and of course each one went straight in her mouth.  After she was done checking everything out I decided I would see if she would fit in her basket, and guess what...

She did! Along with all of her goodies.

We then went to church.  After church we went down to my parents house.  Before we changed out of our Easter outfits we had my sister take a picture.  This is the first family picture we have had in months.

After eating lunch we opened Easter baskets that my parents got for all the grand kids and Whitley got this cute penguin and she loves it!  Here is her playing with it last night.  And yes, she is sitting all by herself!  She is still working on staying up longer but she does stay for a few minutes at a time.

Well, the penguin is bigger than her, but oh well!  She is getting big and I am enjoying EVERY minute of it!

She is rolling

Well she finally did it!  Whitley rolled over from back to front!  She started this on Tuesday night.  I didn't get her first roll on video but I did get the second one.  I did get her first scooting forward on video though!  I was going to wait to write this blog until I could figure out how to post the video with it, but decided not to.  I will post the video later.

After she rolled over the second time I was sitting there talking to her and she then dug her foot in and pushed herself forward.  She hasn't scooted anymore, but she trys to all the time.  We play in the floor every night and she is allways trying to scoot forward, but most of the time it rocks her up on her arms and chest and doesn't move her.  I am so proud of her, she will be crawling in no time.

I love every minute with her or just thinking about her.  She has changed my life so much.  I could never imagine my life without her.  Can you tell I'm a proud momma?

4 Months

Whitley,

I cannot believe that you are 4 months old already!  You are such a blessing.  You have changed so much since you were born and you continue to change everyday.  Just last night you almost and I mean almost rolled over from your back to your belly.  You have been working on this for awhile.  Last night you were rolled up on your sided and grabbing at the blanket with your hand trying to get a grip to roll the rest of the way over.  I was holding my breath the whole time!  You are also about to get your first tooth!  It isn't all the way through yet but you can see it and feel part of it.

At your last doctors appointment on April 4, 2011 you had to have you shots :(  You are weighing 11 pounds 9 ounces and 23.5 inches long.  You are just a petite little thing!  You are still in size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes.  I am really starting to get nervous about your summer wardrobe situation since all of it is size 3-6!

At this point you are still a momma's girl and cry for most other people.  You think your Grandma Joy is really funny!  You don't cry for her much and I think that is because she sounds like mommy.  You are still warming up to Grandma Jan.  You are getting better about not crying as much for daddy either.

I am guessing that within the next month you will be crawling, since you are starting to pull your legs up and trying to scoot when you are on you belly now.  I am excited to see that.  I think you will be chasing Chubbs and Diesel everywhere!  They will have a blast with that.

You mean everything in the world to me, my sweet baby girl!  You have changed my life like no one else can.  I love you so very much.

Love you sweet baby girl,

Mommy

Feet!

Well this week has been trying for a new mom, Whitley has had her first "cold."  It started out just the snotty nose, then the cough came.  I can handle that because she has had a short time that this had previously happened.  Then Monday night happened...she cried...no wait, screamed for hours!  This isn't my girl so I knew something wasn't right.  So I called the on-call nurse at her peds office and they called the on-call doctor and told me to give her a warm bath, rub her belly and to get into the office on Tuesday.  So we went to the doctor and they said that it was just a cold and that her ears and lungs were clear and to just hang in there.  That made me feel better knowing her ears and lungs were clear, that is always my biggest fear.  We wake up Wednesday morning and she felt warm to me so I took her temperature, 101.1!  I once again called the on-call nurse to see if I needed to get her into the doctor again and she told me that I could just treat her at home and let me know what to do.  She slept most of the day, all cuddled up in my lap.  She was not her normal smiley self and that broke my heart knowing that she didn't feel good.  She had to be fever free for 24 hours before going back to daycare, so I had to stay home with her again on Thursday since her fever spiked again Wednesday night.

Thursday was a much better day!  She was smiling again!  She also made a new discovery...her FEET!  It was so fun to watch her grab and play with her feet.  This morning she was still fever free so she went to daycare today.  She has been having a pretty good day.  Hopefully she will be feeling 100% by next week.  When the weather turns nice again, I want to take her outside to get some pictures of her.  The lighting in my house really stinks when it comes to taking pictures!

Can't believe she is going to be 4 months old next week!  Time is flying by so fast and I am loving every minute of it!

Mamamamamama

The weather so far this week has been a little strange.  It was snowing on Monday and yesterday it was almost 80 but what can you say other than "that is Missouri for ya."  Despite the weather Whitley has been doing good.  I am afraid that with this crazy weather that she will get all snotty again since she just got better.  Hopefully that won't happen!

But for better news...she started saying mamamamama yesterday!  It wasn't just a one time thing either.  She said it A LOT yesterday morning as I was getting her ready, then even the daycare teacher said she was saying up there.  Then she said just mama a couple times while we were walking with Jolanna and baby Brinn!  Of course Robb is like she doesn't know what she is saying so it doesn't count.  YES IT DOES!!!  Yes, I know that she doesn't know what it means and that those are just some of the first sound combinations that babies put together.  But it still counts to me as her first word!

I so so so thought she was going to roll over from back to front last night.  I had her on a blanket in the floor and she was rolling around like usual but then she stretched out real big and was almost there...then she rolled back to her back.  Darn it!  I got so excited and kept telling her that she could do it but she didn't.  I really think she will soon though.

This is from the night before last.  3/16/11

Whitley 3 Months

Whitley,

You are growing so much and getting big on mommy.  I love you to pieces my beautiful girl!  I tell you that you are beautiful and that I love you everyday and have promised you that I will always do that.  You have turned into a slobber bucket this month.  You slobber and slobber and have begun chewing on everything.  You talk all the time and it is music to mommy's ears.  You have been fighting a snotty nose and hopefully it will clear up soon, because you REALLY don't like the saline drops and getting your nose sucked out!  Last night you almost laughed!  You have wanted to for a long time now.  I can tell that you want to laugh with how you smile.  You have also started talking in a really squeaky voice and it makes me laugh and smile.  You are such a blessing and I thank God everyday for you.  The last time I took you to the doctor you weighed 11 lbs 5 oz!  You are still wearing 0-3 month clothing and some of those are even too big still.  I recently switched you to Pamper Swaddlers Sensitive because your little bottom seemed to be red a lot.  You are in a size 1 diaper.  You can still only roll over from your tummy to your back but you are still working on the other way.  You can push yourself up on your side and lay like that, but haven't push all the way over.  You are a very happy baby!  You smile all the time!  You are trying to sit up but still need help staying up.  You have started stomping your feet and standing on one leg when you stand in our lap.  You love to stand and sit up!  People always want to lay you down to hold you and it makes you fuss.  You are a very schedule oriented baby.  Since being in daycare you have developed a schedule and get a little fussy when it gets messed up.  You wake up once a night to nurse and it is usually between 4-6.  After I wake you up and get you ready for daycare you "snack" at 7:30 then take a 4 oz bottle of mommy's milk around 9:30.  I come to see you everyday at 12:30 to let you nurse and it makes my day.  You eat another 4 oz bottle around 3:30 I pick you up between 5-5:30 then once we get home you will usually nurse again around 6.  I usually start getting you ready for bed around 8:30 and then you nurse before you fall asleep.  I love the time I spend with you nursing, it makes me feel peaceful and calm.  I am running a touch behind on your 3 month pictures but we are getting those taken this weekend.

I love you my beautiful baby girl!

Love,
Mommy

Whitley's Birth Story

I have never written down Whitley's birth story but now I am.

It all began on November 29, 2010 (my due date).  I had my 40 week doctor's appointment that morning and of course the same old routine as it had been for the last few weeks:  weight, blood pressure, heartbeat and cervical check.  I had progressed from the last week and was now 3-4 cm dilated and 75% effaced.  My doctor was out so his nurse was doing my appointment and went ahead and stripped my membranes.  As soon as I stood up I had a contraction.  Before I had never really noticed the Braxton Hicks contractions, so since I noticed this one I knew it was different.  I looked at Robb and said "It wouldn't suprise me if we are making this trip twice today."  Robb and I finished up anything we had to do while we were in town and then stopped by the vet on the way home.  Through all of this I was having contractions every so often but still nothing to be alarmed about.  After we got home I changed my clothes and went to the gym to walk for awhile.  This was nothing out of my normal because I walked everyday.  I started walking and the contractions were coming closer together.  I walked for 30 minutes and wrote each one down so I could keep track of how far apart they were.  After walking I sat on a exercise ball for 30 minutes to see if they would go away if I stopped walking.  Then I walked for another 30 sat 30 then walked 30 more.  During that last 30 minutes they keep getting closer together and a little stronger.  I think by the time I left the gym they were 5-6 minutes apart.  I went home and sat in the recliner for awhile and during all of this they still weren't stopping they were actually getting closer, 4-5 minutes apart.  So I called my mom and asked her what I should do since she works at an OB/GYN office.  She asked on of the nurses what she thought I should do and she said that I should probably head back into town since I live over an hour away from the hospital.  This was at about 5 o'clock or so.  Well I went ahead and waited for Robb to get done with chores and then fixed him dinner since I wasn't hungry.  He ate and I just sat in the recliner and kept track of my contractions.  After he was done eating I told him that I was going to go ahead and take a shower because we might want to head into town shortly.  While in the shower he would time my contractions and once I got out he headed for the shower as well.  While he was in the shower I called labor and delivery to ask them what I should do.  They first asked if I had eaten anything and I said "no" then to my suprise the nurse told me to eat something and chill out at home and if they get worse to head in.  I was pretty shocked!  Once Robb got out of the shower I told him what all the nurse had told me so we headed back to the living room to watch tv and "chill out."  This was at about 6:30 p.m.  As I was chilling out the contractions were still 4-5 minutes apart and getting stonger.  The next thing I knew a contraction started and then "pop" my water broke.  I jumped up and said "my water just broke!" as it gushed everywhere.  Robb shot up out of his recliner and kenneled the boys (our dogs) and started grabbing bags to head to the hospital.  I changed my clothes (since those were soaked) and had Robb grab another towel and the plastic drop cloth off of our bed (we did that as a precaution so we wouldn't ruin our new mattress) so that I wouldn'g get any fluid on the seats in the Nitro.  This was at 7:25 p.m.  I then called my mom and asked her where she was, of course she had just gotten home, and told her that she might want to head back in town sometime tonight because my water just broke.  She said ok and grabbed some clothes and picked up Kenzie (my little sister) to head to town.  As we were pulling out of the driveway Robb's mom was pulling in, Robb rolled down the window and said "water broke" and took off again.  His mom then called me and I told her that I would called them once we got settled in at the hospital.  As Robb was driving like a crazy person, I kept telling him "slow down, it isn't going to do any of us any good if we never make it there!"  This is after almost hitting a deer and another animal along the way.  Needless to say I think we made it to the hospital in record time as we live over an hour away from the hospital and we were sitting in L&D at 8:30 p.m. getting checked in.  Once there they had me get changed and put me in a triage room to do all the normal getting hooked up to the machines and cervical check.  They did that stupid test to check to see if it was amniotic fluid or pee and it kept coming back negative.  They did it like 5 times and the nurse kept saying "this is crazy!  There is tons of fluid everywhere."  Finally she asked for the clothes I wore in and tested them and got a positive test.  They get me all hooked up and take me to my delivery room and the wait begins.

My mom, Kenzie and Robb's parents are all there by shortly after I get into my delivery room and we all talk for awhile as the nurse is in an out keeping an eye on me.  At one point my mom asks me about my contractions and I tell her that I haven't been having any.  The nurse replies "oh yes you have they are 3-4 minutes apart."  They just weren't intese enough so they decided to start me on pitocin.  My doctor wasn't on call and Robb and I weren't fans of the one who was so we were hoping that Whitley would wait til at least 7:30 a.m. when my doctor would be back in.  After being on the pitocin awhile I start to feel the contractions and were able to breathe through them.  They bumped my pitocin again and they all of a sudden got strong and wouldn't stop.  We told the nurse and she had the doctor come in and check and he told me that both sides of my uterus were contracting at different times.  This was not giving me or Whitley a rest nad was restricting her blood supply.  So they took me off of the pitocin and didn't start it again til my doctor was in.  Before they started my pitocin I went ahead and opted for the epidural and was very hesitant about it.  I hate needles!  I was finally able to get some rest.  My epidural was patchey and made my whole right side dead!  I couldn't feel or move my right leg and that was very uncomfortable.  My night nurse went off duty after they restarted my pitocin and my new nurse came in...it was the ding bat nurse who had told me to chill out for awhile!  We weren't super thrilled with this.  As the morning went on I was making some progress and they continued to check me.  My doctor told my nurse that once I got to 10 cm to let me labor down for an hour before pushing.  They checked me at 11 a.m. 5 cm.  Checked me about 11:30 7 cm.  Then at noon 10 cm!  Time to labor down for an hour.  It's time to push!  I push for an hour and I am exhausted.  Robb had been giving me ice chips through all of it because I was thirsty.  That wasn't a good idea...I started throwing up.  The nurse had me take a 10 minute break and then had me start pushing again.  Not making much progress...the nurse keeps going out of the room and having someone else come in and talking to her about things and keeps telling me that they may have to use forceps or the vacuum to help her come out.  Then finally she had me start pushing a different way shortly before my doctor gets there.  He comes in and checks on me and says "ok I need you to not push for a few minutes because you are to the point where I should already be ready."  He gets ready and then has me push.  He keeps telling me to push harder and to get angry.  That helped, with 3 contractions Whitley was here!  We had kept her name a secret so once they had her cleaned up and ready to see people.  We let the family that was in the hall in to announce her name.  My mom and dad, Kenzie, Courtney (my older sister) and Robb's parents were there.  After they handed her to me we finally annouced that here name was Whitley Kade.  She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.

New at this

I am new at blogging so it may take me awhile to get used to this.  I have recently been inspired to blog by a family that I have never met.  By following their blog I have decided that this is the best way to document the memories that have been made and will continue to be made in my life.

On November 30, 2010 my whole world changed.  My husband Robb and I welcomed a 6 lb 9 oz baby girl into the world.  Her name is Whitley Kade.  She is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen.  She is such a happy baby that smiles so big that she squints her eyes.  She smiles with her whole face and it melts my heart.  She is going to be a talker!  She will talk your leg off already.  She wakes up talking and it is music to my ears.  Sometimes I will just lay in bed and listen to her talk for awhile before I go and pick her up.  She has been rolling over for quite some time now, from her belly to her back.  She has almost made it from back to belly, still teetering on her side for now.  Her rolling over has made tummy time a challenge but she is getting used to it.  I am taking her on Saturday to get her 3 month pictures taken.  I am hoping that we can get some good shots and that we can capture her smile without her hands in her face.  She has started this hand thing that when she smiles she will put both hands in front of her mouth.  Grandma Joy (my mom) says that she is just being shy.   I am still not sure what color her eyes are going to be.  They are still a dark blue and every now and then you can see brown streaks through them.  She will hate me at some point because she got my calic, right in front in the middle!  I'm sure as she grows up she will hate me for more reasons than that but that is still a ways off.

I am going to try to post on here at least once a week and hopefully post all of Whit's big moments.  I hope that when you read about Whit that maybe it will make you smile.  Her smile is very contagious!  Just thinking about her makes me smile.
